History of genocides in Ukraine: studying the experience and challenges of the present. Call for participants for the seminar
Since 2022, the UCHS, in cooperation and with funding from the Shoah Memorial (Paris), has been holding two-day research seminars for educators in Ukraine on topics related to the history and memory of genocides on the territory of Ukraine in the global context. The speakers at the seminar are Ukrainian and French scholars. The working language of the event is Ukrainian with simultaneous translation.

Bakhmut - the Face of the Genocide of 1942/2022" Exhibition of the National Historical Memorial Reserve “Babyn Yar”
On August 1, on the anniversary of the beginning of the Battle of Bakhmut, the exhibition “Bakhmut: Faces of Genocide 1942/2022” will open in Kyiv. The murder of 3,000 civilians, most of them Jews, in January 1942 and the destruction of Bakhmut by the Russians, which has been going on for over a year in our time, are two crimes committed by the same totalitarian Nazi regime.

Presentation of Robert Kuwalek’s book in Lviv
On the 4th of December 2018 Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies presented a new book in Lviv – the Ukrainian translation of the monograph by Robert Kuwalek “Death Camp in Bellec”. Among the participants were friends and colleagues of Robert Kuwalek, scholars, teachers, representatives of the local Jewish community. On August 20-21 the first working meeting took place in a new project about the creation of a teaching guide for the virtual exhibition « Babyn Yar: Memory against History’s Background » ( http://memory.kby.kiev.ua/ ) Researchers of the culture of memory in Ukraine, teachers and methodologists from Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities take part in the project.

Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies announces the educational seminar-school in Holocaust studies and teaching about the Holocaust
Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies (UCHS) in cooperation with Memorial "Yad Vashem" (Jerusalem) and under the support of the Eurasian Jewish Congress and the Embassy of Israel in Ukraine announce the call for participation in the educational summer school on Holocaust History in Ukraine and problems of teaching this subject in Ukrainian schools. The summer school is held for teachers of history and civics of Ukrainian secondary schools. Colleagues and teachers from Belarus and Moldova are welcome to participate as well.

Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies is glad to present the websites of the project "Protecting Memory"
The project "Protecting Memory" (starting in Ukraine in 2010) is dedicated to the still little-known chapter of Nazi policy of extermination: it investigates mass shootings of Jews in the occupied territories of Eastern Europe, which are in the darkness of oblivion. The project, however, is dedicated to marking and protecting evidences of these crimes - the mass graves in Ukraine, which became the last resting place for more than a million Jews - making them worthy memorial places.

From now on, the website of the Public Committee for commemorating of Babyn Yar victims offers the virtual exhibition «Babyn Yar: Memory against History’s Background». The virtual exhibition is created based on the materials of the multimedia exhibition, which was conducted in the Kyiv History Museum from September 15 to November 27, 2016, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy. The exhibition is available in Ukrainian and in English, is completely interactive, and is supplemented with a video guide in Ukrainian
