WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL SEMINAR-SCHOOL "THE HISTORY OF THE HOLOCAUST IN UKRAINE: RESEARCH, EDUCATION, COMMEMORATION", Kyiv, August 2024
The Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies (UCHS) in cooperation with the Yad Vashem Memorial (Jerusalem) announces the recruitment of participants for the educational seminar-school The History of the Holocaust in Ukraine: Research, Education, Commemoration.
The seminar is being held for teachers of history and other social studies at Ukrainian secondary schools. During the course of the seminar, which will include lectures, discussions, workshops, excursions, and debates, participants will examine various aspects of the history of the Holocaust in Ukraine and Europe, the policies of totalitarian regimes, and Ukrainian-Jewish relations in the interwar period and during the Holocaust, the peculiarities of the ideology of Nazi anti-Semitism, interdisciplinary approaches to the history of the Holocaust, other genocides of the Second World War and the present, issues of historical memory, the impact of russia's war against Ukraine on Holocaust research, teaching, and commemoration, and other relevant topics. A significant part of the programme will be devoted to discussing teaching methods of Holocaust history at school. The application deadline is 10 July 2024.

Call for Applications: International Seminar ‘The Holocaust as a Starting Point’
The Holocaust as a Starting Point (HSP) program, launched by the Mémorial de la Shoah and partners, supports Holocaust education through international teacher training. Within the “Polish-Ukrainian Dialogue,” the Polish Centre for Education Development (ORE), the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, and the Mémorial de la Shoah will host two seminars for 45 teachers from Ukraine and Poland.
