"The Genocide of European Jewry: historical perspective and approaches to research". Study course. Introductory part.

On the 27th – 29th of May, 2020, the introductory part of the study course "The Genocide of European Jewry: historical perspective and approaches to research" was held online. The course has been conducted by the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies for ten years by now in cooperation with the House of the Wannsee Conference Education and Memorial Site sponsored

by the German Federal Foreign Office and the German Embassy in Kyiv. [Deutsche Botschaft Kiew.]

The final summarizing meeting of the Educational course «Genocide of Jews in Europe: Perspectives and Approaches» for young scholars was held in Kyiv on December 20-22, 2019.

On 8-12 September 2019 the second part of the anniversary educational course aimed at young scholars, lecturers and researchers of memory culture took place in Berlin.

22-23 June 2019 the educational course commenced in Kyiv with a start-up seminar. It was mostly about presenting the participants’ research projects and the study of commemoration and memorialization of the tragic events of the XX century.

Educational course “Genocide of Jews in Europe: Perspectives and Approaches” 2018: the follow-up meeting

On November 17, 2018 the final meeting of the yearly educational course focused on comparison of the cultures of remembrance about totalitarian regimes in Germany and Ukraine took place in Kyiv. The course was aimed at young scholars and consisted of several parts. Among them were a three-day seminar in Kyiv at the end of May; a distance learning course and research by the participants about the peculiarities of culture of remembrance in different regions of Ukraine; a study visit to Berlin in September; and the follow-up meeting in Kyiv.

On November 17, 2017 the follow-up meeting of participants (students and post-graduate students from 10 Ukrainian universities) and organizers of this year’s educational course «Genocide of Jews in Europe: Perspectives and Approaches» took place.

Educational Course “Genocide of Jews in Europe: Perspectives and Approaches”, 2016

On August 26, 2016 the main element of the educational course “Genocide of Jews in Europe: Perspectives and Approaches” has finished. It was a study trip of the participants - researchers, educators and young professionals - to the Museum and Memorial “House of the Wannsee Conference”.

Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies in cooperation with Educational and Memorial Complex “The House of Wannsee Conference” and under the support of the German Embassy in Ukraine have held the fourth international seminar “Teaching the Holocaust: Perspectives and Approaches”.

Study-Trip "Teaching the Holocaust History - Perspectives and Approaches", Berlin, Wannsee

Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies in cooperation with Educational and Memorial Center "House of the Wannsee Conference" and with support from the German Embassy in Ukraine have held on 18-23 August 2013 in Berlin their annual educational seminar on history of WWII and the Holocaust in Europe.

International seminar “Teaching the Holocaust – Perspectives and Approaches”

Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies in cooperation with the educational and memorial complex “House of the Wannsee Conference” and under the support of German Embassy in Ukraine and EVZ Foundation held a scientific-methodical seminar on the history and the teaching methodologies of World War II and the Holocaust in Europe. The seminar was held for history teachers from Ukraine on 9 - 14 September 2012 in Berlin. Discussions were one of the key forms of carrying out the seminar, either during the lectures or the workshops and museum visits.

International seminar “Teaching the Holocaust History – Perspectives and Approaches”

Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies in cooperation with the educational and memorial complex “House of the Wannsee Conference” and under the support of German Embassy in Ukraine hold scientific-methodical seminar on the subject of the history of World War II and the Holocaust in Europe and of the teaching methods for the History teachers from Ukraine. This seminar is held from the 4th to the 9th of December 2011 in Berlin. Discussion is one of the key forms of carrying out the seminar, and it is one of the constituents of lectures, practical works and excursions as well. The exchange of thoughts is the main goal of the seminar.
