History of the Holocaust in Ukraine: Research, Education, Commemoration. Educational seminar-school. Kyiv 2025
The Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies (UCHS), in cooperation with the Yad Vashem Memorial (Jerusalem), announces the call for applications for the educational seminar-school The History of the Holocaust in Ukraine: Research, Education, Commemoration.
The seminar is intended for history teachers and educators of other social studies in secondary schools across Ukraine. Through lectures, discussions, training sessions, excursions, and interactive debates, participants will explore various aspects of the Holocaust in Ukraine and Europe, the policies of totalitarian regimes, Ukrainian-Jewish relations in the interwar period and during the Holocaust, the ideology of Nazi antisemitism, interdisciplinary approaches to Holocaust history, other genocides of World War II and modern times, issues of historical memory, and the impact of russia’s war against Ukraine on Holocaust research, teaching, and remembrance, among other pressing topics.
A significant part of the program will focus on teaching methodologies for Holocaust history in schools.
Application deadline: July 7, 2025.
