Opening of the exhibition "The Future Without Eyewitnesses"
On November 17, 2022, the exhibition "The Future Without Eyewitnesses" opened in the Dusseldorf Central Library, Germany, and will last until December 23, 2022.
The exhibition was prepared by the transnational project of the Dusseldorf Jewish Community "Learning to remember", which is a long-term reliable partner of the UCHS.
The exhibition is prepared in two languages - Ukrainian and German, in order to be addressed to Ukrainian refugees in Dusseldorf and the region. With the help of educational events, meetings with eyewitnesses, books presentations, film and art exhibitions, the project establishes an additional connection with the urban community. For the Ukrainian youth, who ended up in Dusseldorf due to the full-scale war, an excursion and a class with the exhibition "(No)Children Stories" was held, which is a collaborative project between UCHS and "Learning to Remember". The class was conducted by the coordinator of formal education of the UCHS, Olha Limonova, who came to Dusseldorf especially for this event. The reaction of Ukrainian youth convinced us that our work is very important and necessary, especially during the war! The participants beamed with smiles after hearing the Ukrainian language. The exhibition has been taking on new meanings lately, so you have to be careful when choosing the topics of classes. That’s why we chose a topic, which is close to young people who have become refugees: how teenagers and young people in today's terrible situation help their elders, influence decision-making and support their parents. The time of the class flew by, leaving deep impressions on both the participants and the trainer.
We wish all of us the fastest victory for Ukraine! So that the fate of Ukrainian people of all ages does not depend on the decisions of dictators and terrorists in moscow! Ukrainian youth deserve to have European perspectives and the right to freely choose where to live and what to do in life!!!
