Annual Seminar in Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Memorial de la Shoah
The annual educational and methodological study trip to Memorial de la Shoah for Ukrainian educators took place on 19-24 December 2016. It was commonly organized by Memorial de la Shoah (France) and UCHS.
15 participants had almost a week to visit memorial sites, exchange knowledge and experience with French colleagues, attend lectures and workshops by leading specialists. Among the topics presented for discussion were issues of Holocaust history, persecution of Jews in France, Stalin repressions and pogroms during the civil war in Russia, cases of genocide in Rwanda and Srebrenica. The meeting was topped by a round-table on teaching about the Holocaust, where Ukrainian and French colleagues could discuss common challenges and how to face them.
