Annual educational seminar-school in Holocaust studies and teaching about the Holocaust, Mykolayiv 2017

Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, in cooperation with Yad Vashem (Jerusalem) and under the support of the Embassy of the State of Israel to Ukraine, Vaad of Ukraine and the Eurasian Jewish Congress held on 25 – 30 June 2017 the annual seminar-school in Holocaust studies and teaching about the Holocaust. This year the seminar took place in Ochakiv, near Mykolayiv.
For the 6 days of the seminar-school the participants from all over Ukraine and their colleagues from Belarus could attend many lectures on Nazi propaganda, different victim groups of the Third Reich, the fate of Jews on Ukrainian territories, history and culture of Ukrainian Jews etc. They also focused on the workshops on methodological aspects of teaching about the Holocaust, interdisciplinary links and psychological aspects of education. For feedback essays of the participants one can check the respective issue of the bulletin “Lessons of the Holocaust”

From February 9 to 12, Paris hosted the scholarly and methodological seminar Holocaust as a Starting Point, organized by the Shoah Memorial in cooperation with the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies. The program featured lectures, workshops, museum practice, and excursions.
