A Group of Ukrainian Guides in Anne Frank House Museum in Amsterdam!
The project “Holocaust and Tolerance Education in Ukraine” initiated by Anne Frank House Museum has been an integral part of Ukrainian society for the past five years. One of the elements of the project is the traveling exhibition “Anna Frank: a History for Today” traveling around Ukraine for the five years with guides being students of secondary schools of Ukraine.
Over the years of functioning over 400 students worked as guides at the exhibition. And finally, 12 of them in early July 2007 accompanied by Yulia Smelyanskaya (director of the Institute for Jewish Studies and the guide trainer for the exhibition) went off to a seminar in Anne Frank House Museum in Amsterdam.
For the students the seminar was a kind of a bonus for their superb work at the exhibition. The seminar was led by Yulia Smelyanskaya and Norbert Hinterleitner, an associate of the International Department of the Anne Frank House Museum, co-ordinator of the project in Ukraine and a great friend of Ukrainian Centre for Holocaust Studies.
