The past helps to understand the present – UCU opens the Mykola Haievoi Center for Modern History
On 17 October in Lviv, the Mykola Haievoi Center for Modern History had its ceremonial opening. The center was jointly founded by Ukrainian Catholic University and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.The center is named in honour of a young historian and graduate of the UCU Humanities Faculty, a doctoral candidate who perished in the Kursk area on 27 August 2024. The hero was 28 years old. The Modern History Center will research the history of Ukraine and Europe in the 20th century.

The War Museum hosted a meeting of the discussion platform Our Victory: Ukraine in the Second World War alongside the presentation of the popular science publication Ukraine in the Second World War: War Calendar as part of the museum campaign Our Victory, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe and the victory over Nazism.

Lecture for Ukrainian diplomats at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine as part of the “Diplomacy of Memory” project
On May 21, 2025, the first lecture for Ukrainian diplomats took place as part of the new educational project Diplomacy of Memory, initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The event was held in partnership with the National Historical and Memorial Reserve Babyn Yar.
