insidethegatesOn May 6, Kyiv unveiled its 15th Stumbling Stone in honour of Isaak Libovych. The ceremony, held on the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism, was part of the international project One Stone - One Life. 80 Stumbling Stones for Kyiv.

About 50 participants - residents, researchers, educators, and representatives of the German Embassy, the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, and Kyiv City Administration - gathered to honor his story.

Speakers included project coordinator Uliana Ustinova, the research team from the Kyiv Cooperative Institute of Business and Law, Director of the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies Anatolii Podolskyi, German Embassy representative Nikolas Hayden, and Vitalii Tsaran of the Shevchenkivskyi District Administration.

Isaak Libovych’s life reflects courage, humanity, and survival in occupied Kyiv, with special recognition of Tamara Krylova, who helped him endure. The ceremony highlighted the responsibility to remember and the power of research, with participants touching the stone before installation - a quiet but powerful gesture.
