Research-Methodical Seminar "History of the Holocaust on the territories of Western Ukraine and Poland" 7-12 December 2013

Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies in cooperation with Majdanek State Museum (Poland) and Center for Urban History of East Central Europe (Lviv) under the support of Claims Conference held on 7-12 December 2013 the following, 6th annual research and methodical seminar for Ukrainian teachers of history and humanities. Traditionally, the seminar comprised lectures and discussions combined with visits to the sites of the Holocaust in Ukraine and Poland.
The main focus of the event was history and culture of Polish and West-Ukrainian Jews before and during WWII. Starting in Lviv at Center for Urban History the participants had a chance to learn about the legacy of local Jewish community and its fate, continuing to Poland, where they could visit the memorials and museums on the sites of Nazi death camps: Belzec, Sobibor and Majdanek.

Unveiling of the Stumbling Stone in honour of Serafima Kozachynska

On 16 October 2025, a Stumbling Stone was installed at 14 Ivan Mazepa Street in honour of Serafima Kozachynska. This is the thirteenth Stone on the map of Kyiv.

The 14th Robert Kuvalek Seminar ‘The History of the Holocaust in Western Ukraine and Eastern Poland’

From 12 to 17 October 2025, Lviv and Lublin hosted the 14th Robert Kuvalek Seminar, “The History of the Holocaust in Western Ukraine and Eastern Poland.”
Experienced history teachers — graduates of UCHS educational programs — took part in the event, supported by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany and the Polish Institute in Kyiv.

Stumbling Stone Unveiled in Honor of Klavdiia Vynokurova (Pianykh)

On 7 October 2025, a Stumbling Stone was unveiled in honour of Klavdiia Vynokurova (Pianykh). This is the twelfth Stumbling Stone installed in Kyiv. Despite the cool, rainy weather and air raid sirens, a large crowd gathered for the ceremony - people who came to honour the memory and show that the past continues to live alongside us.
