History of the Holocaust in Ukraine: Research, Education, Commemoration. Educational seminar-school
On August 13-17, 2023, the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies held its annual educational seminar-school "The History of the Holocaust in Ukraine: Research, Education, Commemoration" in Kyiv. The seminar-school was attended by 25 teachers of history and other social studies from 14 regions of the country.
During the school, the participants discussed various aspects of the history of the Holocaust in Ukraine and Europe, the policies of totalitarian regimes, Ukrainian-Jewish relations in the interwar period and during the Holocaust, the ideology of Nazi anti-Semitism, interdisciplinary approaches to the history of the Holocaust, other genocides of World War II and the present, issues of historical memory, the impact of russia's war against Ukraine on Holocaust research, teaching, and commemoration, and other relevant topics. A significant part of the program was devoted to the discussion of Holocaust history teaching methods at school.

Call for Applications: International Seminar ‘The Holocaust as a Starting Point’
The Holocaust as a Starting Point (HSP) program, launched by the Mémorial de la Shoah and partners, supports Holocaust education through international teacher training. Within the “Polish-Ukrainian Dialogue,” the Polish Centre for Education Development (ORE), the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, and the Mémorial de la Shoah will host two seminars for 45 teachers from Ukraine and Poland.
