The lecture arouse great interest among the graduates of our projects. While mentioning the pro-Nazi position of certain Ukrainian church-leaders, Romanovsky focused on the saving role of clergy.
The audiences main questions were specifically about Sheptytsky, the lecturer’s attitude towards the Greek-Catholic Ukrainian metropolitan who harboured hundreds of Jews during WW2, as well as the failure to grant the metropolitan the title of “Righteous Among the Nations”. Romanovsky noted, that the issue of this question will be possibly considered again in the future and may end positively, as for Ukrainian interests.
