Round table “Jewish studies during the russian aggression: views from Ukraine and the USA”

insidethegatesOn January 15, 2023, the Center for Interethnic Relations Research is holding a round table "Jewish Studies during the russian aggression: Views from Ukraine and the USA". Russia's aggression against Ukraine in 2014, followed by a full-scale war in February 2022, had a profound effect on the situation in the Jewish Studies research field and on the researchers themselves. During the round table, Ukrainian and Western researchers will discuss the practical and methodological problems facing researchers of the history of Jews in Ukraine today and the future prospects of studies.

    On 26-28 September 2025, a methodological seminar entitled How to Talk About the Holocaust with Schoolchildren was held in Kyiv. Educators from nine regions of Ukraine gathered to learn, exchange experiences and seek answers to difficult questions. The seminar participants had already successfully completed the online course How to Talk About the Holocaust with Schoolchildren, which began on 10 June 2025, and now had the opportunity to continue their training in the format of direct professional communication.
