NGO “Mnemonic” presented an audio film about the Holocaust in Rivne

insidethegatesDuring the presentation of the audio film Echoes of Sosonky, created by the NGO Mnemonic, visitors heard the story of the tragic events that took place in Rivne in early November 1941. The project is supported by the EVZ Foundation.

The sounds of gunshots, clocks, footsteps, screams and cries are just part of the sound palette that helps to immerse you in the historical atmosphere of that time. The audio film reflects the feelings that the victims and eyewitnesses of the tragedy might have experienced.

The speakers discussed the Holocaust in Sosonky: Maksym Hon reflected on the ‘philosophy of evil’, Roman Mikhalchuk gave a historical overview of the events, Matthias Richter presented new forms of working with history, and Halyna Danylchuk and Olena Huminska emphasised the importance of oral testimonies. Svitlana Hon presented a guide for educators. Special thanks to Yevhen Tsymbaliuk for the script of the audio film.
